Gardens and Play Areas at Bunratty Community Childcare Centre Get Makeover as part of Aramark Building Community Day

01.11.2022

Dublin, Friday 23rd September 2022: As part of Aramark’s commitment to supporting local communities, Aramark employees put on their gardening gloves and painting overalls to revamp the gardens and play areas of Bunratty Community Childcare Centre on Friday 23rd September.

Bunratty Community Childcare Centre was first established in 1985 by a group of local women who saw the need to provide childcare for mothers who wished to return to education or training in the local area. This community-based facility now offers full day care spaces for up to 38 children aged between 12 months and five years old. Aramark employees made their way to Bunratty Community Childcare Centre to paint and varnish garden furniture and toys and revamp the existing fairy gardens.

This event was part of Aramark’s annual day of community service, where thousands of our colleagues come together in locations around the world to demonstrate and celebrate our year-round Aramark Building Community commitment.

Commenting on the initiative, Frank Gleeson, CEO at Aramark Northern Europe, said:

“It’s great to be once again supporting our local communities after the Covid-19 pandemic. Aramark Building Community Day encourages our colleagues to give back to the local community in which we work and create a lasting impact. Giving back is part of our year-round dedication to our mission of doing great things for our people, our partners, our communities, and our planet. Bunratty Community Childcare Centre offers an important service in our community, so it was an easy decision to focus our Aramark Building Community Day efforts on creating a nurturing and safe space for children.”

Anne- Marie Brown, Manager of Bunratty Community Childcare Centre, said:

“Due to the pandemic and lack of funding over the last two years, we’ve been low on supplies and resources to look after the gardens here in the centre. Today we welcomed Aramark employees to help create a revamped space for our children to play and explore. The play areas and fairy garden have never looked better! It’s great to have companies like Aramark taking the time to help us re-imagine our gardens which are so important for children’s sensory play, growth and development.”
